Job Description

Position Summary The Injection Molding Processor is responsible for setting up, starting, and troubleshooting injection molding machines to ensure optimal machine performance and high-quality part production. This role requires technical expertise in plastic processing, mold setup, and the ability to interpret process documentation and quality standards. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Set up, start and troubleshoot injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment. Establish, monitor, and optimize machine parameters to ensure quality and efficiency. Perform mold changes, tool setup, and adjustments according to production requirements. Identify and correct process issues such as flash, short shots, or warping. Maintain detailed records of machine setting, production output, and downtime. Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machines and tooling. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies. Train operators on machine operation and best practice. Install and remove molds following safety and procedural standards. Troubleshoot and correct molding defects such as flash, short shots, burns, and splay. Perform material changes and ensure correct material usage. Document process changes and maintain accurate setup sheets and logs. Work closely with quality assurance to ensure parts meet all specifications. Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures. Physical Requirements Frequently exposed to noise, heat, and moving machinery. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods. • Use of PPE required (safety glasses, etc.) Technical Skills/Experience In-depth knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, materials, and processing. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and part drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with various resins. Knowledge of robotics and automation systems is a plus.
