What You'll Do Analyze process performance using data-driven methods to identify waste, variability, and improvement opportunities Investigate and recommend process, procedure, training or equipment needs to continually improve performance Work with department and shift managers to optimize personnel and process execution for consistent performance and continuous process improvement Monitor shop performance and processes daily for operation within established parameters Determine causes for deviation and recommend corrections Provide reporting daily, weekly and monthly to document Mill performance against established key performance indicators Work with Quality Assurance Department to monitor product quality and identify and correct any deviations Interact with company personnel resources external to plant about process performance and improvement Initiate communication with resources external to company (suppliers and contractors) for consistency and improvement initiatives Lead or support process improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives What You'll Need Knowledge of Rolling Mill operations to include Reheat Furnace, Rolling Mill, Cooling Bed, and Backshear Bundling equipment strongly preferred Minimum three years rolling mill experience in a hands on environment Basic knowledge of the rolling process preferred Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal Highly technical, detail oriented, organized and self-starter Willingness and ability to work hands-on in the shop with operators on flexible schedules Ability to work within all levels of the organization (shop floor to upper management) Critical thinking, strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail Your Education Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required.
