Job Description

Job Description Our client is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to support the Mechanical Project Design Group at a plant in Oak Ridge. This individual will provide process engineering support for the Lithium Processing Facility Project and will work across the full project lifecycle, including scope development, feasibility studies, conceptual engineering, and detailed design. Responsibilities include developing process flow diagrams, P&IDs, process calculations, technical studies, engineering reports, and process descriptions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing complex chemical or nuclear processing facilities and will thrive in a highly regulated, mission-critical environment. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. 10+ years of progressive chemical engineering experience. Experience supporting the design of complex nuclear, chemical, or industrial processing facilities. Strong process design background, including: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Block Flow Diagrams Process calculations and analyses Process descriptions and technical reports Experience participating in projects from conceptual design through detailed design and implementation. Ability to work onsite in a highly regulated environment requiring a Q Clearance or the ability to obtain one. Active DOE Q Clearance. Previous experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE), nuclear, or government facilities. Experience supporting lithium processing or other specialty chemical manufacturing processes. Background working on large capital projects, facility expansions, or modernization efforts. Experience performing feasibility studies, scope development, and front-end engineering/design (FEED).
