(Arlington TX ) Andritz Separation Inc. seeks a Process Specialist support sales efforts and project execution for thermal drying systems and work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to support project requirements and comply with customer specifications for system performance and equipment selection / design.
Essential Functions Performed:
Conduct laboratory and on-site drying system performance testing for Andritz equipment. Perform thermal drying process calculations. Calculate and tabulate process stream values (pressure, temperature, moisture content, etc.). Review process equipment proposals. Prepare technical specifications for process equipment and instrumentation. Prepare process equipment data sheets. Prepare emission estimates. Prepare requests for quotes, obtain and review quotes, and make recommendations to project engineers. Advise project engineers on instrument installation details and reviews instrument locations on process equipment. Prepare cost estimates for equipment and instrumentation to support sales. Prepare system and sub system operating sequences (start, stop, special functions, interlocks, etc.). Prepare control loop descriptions for use by software developers. Prepare lists of recommended alarm and level values for instruments and control loops. Prepare instrument installation diagram sketches and work with drafting to prepare drawings. Review and mark up drawings. Prepare instrument location drawings (markups and sketches) showing location of instruments, motors etc. on Andritz dryer systems. Prepare piping and instrumentation drawings (sketches and markups) and work with drafting to produce drawing sets for sales and project requirements. Prepare process flow schematics and process flow data and work with drafting to produce drawing sets for sales and project requirements. Prepare dryer system operator training material. Write and review technical sections for Andritz system Operating and Maintenance Manuals. 30% domestic travel to customer sites as required to gather data, perform product application analysis, testing and to oversee the commissioning of fluid bed dryers in customers' plants.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience as a process engineer in the chemicals industry or related position. Ability to understand, analyze and interpret technical data, charts, studies, and specifications. Current in PC skills: Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point. 30% domestic travel to customer sites as required to gather data, perform product application analysis, testing and to oversee the commissioning of fluid bed dryers in customers' plants.
