Job Summary Develop and implement productivity improvement projects, focusing on safety, quality, reliability and manufacturing conversion cost reduction initiatives. Provide technical resources to the operations team by improving performance efficiencies of the area operations as well as operators. The focus will be providing better tools, processes, procedures and training materials for meeting and ultimately exceeding performance standards. Lead efforts in the unit process and product troubleshooting. Essential Responsibilities Work closely with Manufacturing leadership and facility workforce. Provide production-engineering support to improve process flow, production yields, cost reduction, equipment reliability, waste generation, and EHS improvements through lean manufacturing concepts Lead improvement teams, impact events, and production analysis. Ensure/assist in compliance to environmental, training, safety, transportation and all other regulations that the company must abide by while performing the following duties: Develop and implement productivity improvement projects; focusing on safety, quality, reliability and manufacturing conversion cost reduction initiatives. Projects to include both expense and capital management initiatives. Implement and maintain production standards and ensure compliance with quality control procedures. Develop de-bottlenecking plans to improve product expansion / volume increase to attract new products to the plant Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs. Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to streamline production operations. Prepare reports on production performance, including output, efficiency, and quality metrics Provide technical resources to the operations team by improving the performance efficiencies of area operations and operators. The focus will be providing better tools, processes, procedures and training materials for meeting and ultimately exceeding performance standards. Lead efforts in unit process and product troubleshooting. Ensure/assist in compliance efforts with regard to environmental, safety, and transportation compliance as well as all other internal and external regulations that the company must abide by. Conformance with the Valtris Quality and Environmental, Health, Safety and Security policies and awareness of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements applicable to this position. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Chemical preferred Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing/production and process engineering. Successful Project Management experience. Six Sigma experience highly valued. Motivated, self-starter with excellent human relations skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT). SAP Navigation and Power BI skills highly valued. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate variety of electronic office equipment - computer, printer, radio, phone. At times, prolonged periods of sitting at desk working on computer/workstation and on calls. May occasionally need to lift up to 10 pounds. May occasionally need to bend, stoop, reach and/or twist at the waist. Ability based upon position and need to perform duties/visit/walk through a manufacturing environment with the following conditions; chemical and mechanical operations, dust and fumes, working within safe but proximity to forklift and machine operations, exposure to heights, heat and humidity, hearing or talking around loud machinery.
