BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION
Overall management responsibility for injection molded parts and assemblies. This includes the people and process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Proficient in all areas of molding operations including injection molding machinery, blow mold experience, support equipment, automated assembly, material preparation, inspection and testing. Shop order planning and coordination. Training of molding personnel in general skills and specific job tasks. Coordination of in-process and final quality control activities. Install and setup of injection molding tooling and processes. Responsible for the general maintenance and cleaning of the assembly area and warehouse. Maintenance and calibration of all equipment, fixtures, and tools. This position requires lifting and manipulation of medium-sized packages. Paperwork in support of the above operations. Coordination of new process and product integration.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
INTERNAL:
Must be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team interacting easily with the members of the team. Must be able to support the ongoing injection molding of product. Must be able to support ongoing materials planning.
EXTERNAL
Interact easily with suppliers of materials and equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise molding personnel and operators.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Technical degree and applicable trade studies in plastic injection molding or blow molding At least 3 years of injection molded part experience in the appropriate field. Experience in the inspection and manipulation of small parts is required. At least 3 years of experience managing a large production operation. At least 3 years of automated assembly experience. Mechanical repair abilities. Must have proficient computer skills. Word and Excel. Must have proficient skill level in the use of QC inspection equipment. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
