Co. is a contract manufacturing company serving Aerospace, Commercial, Medical, and Semiconductor markets. We operate in a high-mix, high-complexity environment and are focused on building a manufacturing organization that is more structured, scalable, and process-driven. Position Summary We are seeking a Process Engineer to improve, standardize, and document manufacturing processes across the shop. This role is responsible for turning inconsistent or person-dependent work into clear, repeatable systems that support quality, efficiency, and long-term operational stability. This position is well suited for someone who can work both on the floor and at a desk, understands how manufacturing actually functions in practice, and can take a loosely defined problem and convert it into a working process. The Process Engineer will work closely with department leaders, operators, and engineering to reduce firefighting, improve organization, support automation, and help departments operate with more consistency and forward planning. Key Responsibilities Evaluate current manufacturing processes and identify gaps, bottlenecks, and sources of inconsistency Develop, document, and standardize processes across machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and related areas Create work instructions, process documentation, visual standards, and training materials Support implementation of documented processes and help ensure adoption on the floor Work with department leadership to improve flow, reduce variation, and build more repeatable operations Analyze process issues, troubleshoot root causes, and develop practical corrective actions Improve organization, cleanliness, and process clarity within assigned departments Support tooling, fixturing, setup improvements, and other process-related enhancements Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and efficiency improvement Help shift departments from reactive problem-solving to more structured, proactive operation Follow up on open items and process changes to ensure improvements are actually implemented and sustained What Success Looks Like A successful candidate will help create an environment where work is less dependent on individual knowledge, managers spend less time fighting daily issues, and departments operate with better structure and consistency. Over time, this role should contribute to stronger documentation, more effective training, better process discipline, improved efficiency, and increased use of automation where appropriate. Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing environment with direct involvement in process improvement, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar work Strong understanding of real-world production processes and how they function on the floor Ability to document processes clearly and turn informal practices into usable standards Experience identifying and solving process-related problems through observation, analysis, and follow-through Ability to work cross-functionally with production leaders, operators, and engineering Comfortable moving between floor-level execution and structured desk work Practical mindset with strong organizational ability and sound judgment Ability to work through existing leadership while building credibility and influence over time Strong follow-through and ability to move improvements from concept to adoption Preferred Background Experience in machining, welding, sheet metal, fabrication, assembly, or other complex manufacturing environments Experience with work instructions, training documentation, visual process controls, or lean process improvement Familiarity with tooling, fixturing, setup reduction, automation, or process validation Experience improving process flow, reducing variation, and supporting production stability
