Job Description

Process Engineering Manager Location Rockdale, TX Employment Type Full time Department G2 Overview Application T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. We're focused on building advanced American manufacturing and we're passionate about engineering a better future filled with abundant energy. The Role T1 Energy is looking to hire a Process Manager to lead process engineering at our G2 solar cell fab in Rockdale, Texas. This is a senior technical leadership role for someone with deep, hands-on expertise in TOPCon cell technology and the experience to translate that knowledge into a high-performing, high-yield production environment. You've developed and scaled TOPCon processes before. You understand the science, you know the toolsets, and you've seen what it takes to move from development to high-volume manufacturing without losing efficiency or cell performance. Now you'll own it from the top. What You'll Do Own all process engineering activities at the G2 solar cell fab, with direct responsibility for TOPCon cell process development, integration, and optimization. Lead a team of process engineers across key unit processes including tunnel oxide, polysilicon deposition, diffusion, passivation, and metallization. Drive process stability and continuous improvement across the fab, using data to identify and close yield and efficiency gaps. Establish and maintain process baselines, control plans, and process documentation across all cell fab process steps. Partner with Equipment, Metrology, and Quality teams to ensure process and tool readiness, control, and compliance. Lead process-related root cause analysis for yield excursions, efficiency losses, and cell performance deviations. Support technology transfer and process qualification activities for new tools, materials, and process flows. Collaborate with R D and device engineering on next-generation process development and integration. Represent process engineering in cross-functional leadership reviews and external technical discussions. Who You Are A TOPCon expert — you know the technology deeply and have the development and manufacturing experience to back it up. A technical leader who can operate at both the bench and the boardroom level. Rigorous and methodical in your approach to process development, with a strong instinct for where problems are hiding. Collaborative and effective across engineering disciplines, operations, and external partners. Energized by the challenge of scaling advanced cell technology in a new fab environment. Qualifications PhD or MS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. 10+ years of process engineering experience in solar cell fabrication, with specific and demonstrated expertise in TOPCon technology. Deep understanding of TOPCon unit processes including tunnel oxide growth, polysilicon deposition, doping, and contact formation. Hands-on experience with PECVD, LPCVD, diffusion furnaces, ALD, and related toolsets. Strong background in process integration, yield analysis, and statistical process control. Experience managing or leading process engineering teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Track record of supporting technology transfer from development to high-volume production. The T1 Way We move fast, expect accountability, and treat people with respect. We also have a no-jerks policy: we don't tolerate big egos, bad behavior or "that's not my job attitude". Be sharp, be honest, be human. If you can hold the line and have a sense of humor, you'll fit right in. T1 Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
