Change the world. Love your job. Texas Instruments is looking for an energetic engineer with focus on GaN Technology development in the Yield Engineering/ Defect Metrology space. This position provides the opportunity to drive continual improvement at all levels and advanced technology development opportunities. We are searching for a self-directed, highly motivated engineer to join our team. The responsibilities in this role include: Be curious. Seek feedback. Honor commitments. Drive results. Support manufacturing operations in a high-interrupt and rapidly ramping tool install environment. Develop and implement inspection strategy and identify/ resolve defects of interest for GaN Technology development, procedures, and processes that result in improved efficiencies, yields, machine operations, and quality, and a relentless commitment to chase and visualize the data. Develop new processes from the ground up for advanced node development with high-volume manufacturing in mind. Implement project or improvement plans for areas of responsibility including but not limited to: efficiency improvements, cost reduction or quality improvement programs, new product support and other process improvements. Perform lot and equipment dispositions to support the continuous flow of production and to minimize cycle time in a high volume manufacturing 300mm wafer Fab running Analog Technologies. Provide training to junior colleagues and process technicians. Maintain and improve training documentation and procedures. Identify systematic problems in either process or equipment related sources and communicating findings to the engineering staff in a continuous manner. Support the manufacturing ramp with execution of equipment/process startup, process experiments (SWRs). Participate in data analysis and problem resolution. Collaborate across teams/ branches to solve fab priorities, which can change quickly.
Minimum requirements:
5+ years of experience within the semiconductor industry as a Defect Metrolgoy Engineer or Metrology Process Engineer Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field Strong foundation in statistical process control, engineering change control and process release strategies Preferred qualifications: Proficiency with Python, Claude, or other AI models or tools is a plus Experience with Brightfield and Darkfield Inspection theory/techniques Experience with Review SEM and SEM-related analysis techniques Strong understanding of GaN integration and defects of interest. Ability to develop an empty process space from conception to high-volume manufacturing. Ability to work with Big Data and quickly assimilate disparate data sources into digestible visualizations. Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions. Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery. Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Ability to take the initiative and drive for result.
