PROCESS ENGINEER
(0-2 yrs exp) Essential Functions Uphold VME core values: Integrity, Responsibility, Fairness, Clarity Assist with detailed process design work in projects Support Business development with process design for proposals Participate in technical service trips for onshore and offshore assignments as required Design and size separation equipment and VME internals Review drafting work on participating projects Prepare project process summary reports Support cost estimates for projects Develop standards and specifications for Process Solutions Division Perform heat and material balance calculations to provide equipment operational changes Review Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis Review fabrication and analyze the VME designs for possible improvement and assist with new innovations Visit and discuss with client's ideas on their projects Communicate with other departments to provide technical assistance where needed Serve as Process Engineering Representative in production meetings when required Attend seminars/conferences for collecting ideas and keeping abreast of technology changes Develop/verify/secure usage of in-house software Coordinate with other VME engineers to update, verify, approve and assist with VME Intellectual Process Property Actively promote and personally observe all company policies, employee handbook, safety and security procedures Comply with company work schedule including but not limited to overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary Comply with company timekeeping policy Other Duties Assist with other departments as required Support other VME Divisions as required including international travel and temporary assignments as needed Maintain clean work area Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to analyze complex or diverse process engineering information Ability to delegate work assignments, give authority to work independently, set expectations and monitor delegated activities Ability to include staff in planning, decision making, facilitating and process improvement Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather information skillfully Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations Ability to demonstrate group presentation skills and conduct meetings Excellent oral and written communication skills Gives high attention to details Able and willing to make timely decisions Exhibits sound and accurate judgment Ability to prioritize and plan work activities Uses time efficiently Ability to develop realistic action plans Ability to speak, read and write English Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, talk, or hear Use hands fingers, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls Reach with hands and arms The employee must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Ability to lift 0-25lbs Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but sometimes high Domestic and international travel, up to 25% of the time Preferred Qualifications Chemical Engineering degree from recognized university 0-2 years chemical engineering experience, preferably in oil and gas industry
