Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Printing Engineer to join our innovative research team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, setup, and optimization of printing processes within a high-tech research environment. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of printing equipment, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge production lines, utilizing advanced engineering skills to deliver exceptional results. Duties Develop, implement, and optimize printing processes using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo to ensure precision and efficiency. Program and troubleshoot industrial printing equipment, including CNC machines, vision inspection systems, and robotics involved in the printing process. Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues related to print quality, equipment downtime, or process inefficiencies, then develop effective solutions. Strong understanding of color management, ICC profiling, and RIP workflows (e.g., Fiery, Onyx, Caldera, or vendor‑specific RIPs) Experience designing and running test plans: adhesion, abrasion/scratch, stain, UV, and heat resistance. Familiarity with sublimation or UV‑curable inks, transfer papers/films, and coating systems for hard surfaces (ceramic, glass, metal, or stone‑like materials) Design schematics and technical drawings for tooling, fixtures, and fabrication components using GD&T standards. Support factory experience initiatives by applying lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve workflow within the printing line. Perform regular maintenance and calibration of industrial equipment to maintain compliance with
ISO 9001
standards and ensure optimal performance. Lead process improvement projects focused on automation, robotics integration, or new technology adoption to enhance productivity. Provide technical guidance on welding, fabrication, tooling setup, and assembly line integration related to printing operations.

Experience Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in CNC programming (CAM), robot programming, and industrial equipment troubleshooting. Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Schematics for designing components and process layouts. Knowledge of process engineering principles including continuous improvement methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Experience working with vision inspection systems and automation robotics in a production environment is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis effectively while managing multiple projects with project scheduling skills. Understanding of
ISO 9001
standards related to quality management systems within a manufacturing facility.
