OVERVIEW
Working as Full-time Engineer, you will use your technical knowledge to work directly with Fastenal's sales and branch teams to help develop, sell, and implement new opportunities. Additionally, you will be the primary engineering resource for your geographic territory and a prescribed book of business. This position allows an engineer to work with a diverse group of customers and the products they produce.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Providing exceptional technical support both internally and externally o Maintaining relationships with our customer's engineering/technical staff o Bringing new sales opportunities to the company o Assisting in customer product design by providing technical support o Supporting sales efforts by presenting on topics that are your area of expertise o Identifying opportunities for product changes or substitutions that result in improved function and/or cost savings
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed o Possess or are working towards a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related education OR have previous work experience in the fastener industry o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Comfortable making high level, group sales and product presentations o Willingness to travel 50% or more with some overnights required o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) o Pass a background check, required by a customer/contract serviced by this location
