This is a unique opportunity for an engineer who enjoys residential design, values client relationships, and may ultimately be interested in business ownership. Our firm has built long-standing relationships with builders, architects, and contractors throughout the Gulf Coast region. We pride ourselves on providing practical engineering solutions, responsive service, and maintaining a collaborative work environment. Duties Design and review structural systems for residential projects, including custom homes, additions, renovations, and elevated coastal construction. Provide engineering support for light commercial projects. Prepare signed and sealed structural drawings, calculations, and reports. Coordinate directly with architects, builders, contractors, and permitting agencies. Conduct site visits and structural observations as needed. Mentor junior staff and contribute to the continued growth of the practice. Requirements Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Alabama or ability to obtain reciprocity. Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience , primarily in residential construction. Experience with coastal design, wind loading, and foundation systems is preferred. Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and structural design standards. Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
