Job Description
PROJECT ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Function:
The Project Engineer supports a project and assists the Project Team in obtaining, evaluating, coordinating, and distributing the information and authorizations necessary to construct the project on time, within budget and to the quality specified. In the performance of this function the Project Engineer is responsible for protecting and promoting the interests of both the business and client in all matters as well as demonstrate the personal characteristics of a developing leader.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure Contract Document Logs are established and maintained
- Ensure status reports on RFIs, Submittals and other Documents are prepared and presented
- Write and verify effective scopes of work for bid packages
- Effectively issue Request for Quotations and follow up with Trade Contractors
- Successfully update project schedules with CPM techniques
- Timely document field quality activities
- Prepare change order reports, estimates and other cost report documents
- Establish and maintain the project quality files and documentation systems
- Continually promote organizational change initiatives, suggests new ideas, and adapt to work within new structures and processes
- Become familiar with contracts, general conditions and flow down language
- Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks that have potential to generate opportunities for Blue Cord Experience /
Education:
- BS or MS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 1-2 years of Construction Project Management experience with a CM or GC
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proven record of meeting organizational and personal goals while delivering results
- Demonstrated ability to recognize different interpersonal styles and modify personal style to accommodate tasks, situations, and individuals involved
- Demonstrated ability to convey a persuasive case and provide substantial evidence
- Strong verbal and written skills
- OSHA 10-Hour Certified
- Basic MEP Knowledge
- Understanding of Contract Document & Specifications
- Knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Office and Primavera P6 preferable
