Phoenix, AZ About ProCaDesign ProCaDesign is a structural and architectural design firm serving residential and commercial clients across the Phoenix metro. We deliver projects that are engineered to last, built to code, and designed with the end user in mind. Our team is small, collaborative, and serious about quality — every member owns their projects from concept through construction. About the Role Our project roster is growing and we need a sharp, field-ready engineer to help us bring well-designed residential and commercial structures to life in the Phoenix metro. If you want hands-on work from day one — not just a desk and a screen — this is the role for you. As our Entry-Level Structural Engineer, you will support structural analysis, design, and field inspection across a mix of residential and commercial projects. In your first year, you will build a foundation in real-world structural practice — learning our workflows, contributing to design packages, and spending meaningful time in the field verifying that what we draw is what gets built. What You'll Do Perform structural analysis and design calculations for residential and light commercial structures, including foundations, framing, and lateral systems Prepare and review structural drawings, specifications, and design packages for permit and construction Conduct field observations and site visits to verify construction compliance with design documents Assist in applying and interpreting applicable building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC) for Arizona projects Coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients to resolve field conditions and design questions Support senior engineers on larger commercial projects, contributing calculations and documentation Maintain accurate project records, field notes, and inspection reports Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited program 1-3 years of field experience in structural engineering or construction (internships and co-ops qualify) Working knowledge of structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar) Familiarity with
IBC, ASCE
7, and standard concrete, steel, and wood design codes Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit a plus Valid Arizona driver's license and ability to travel to job sites in the Phoenix metro area Strong written and verbal communication — you will interact directly with contractors and clients Preferred Engineer-in-Training (EIT) / Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification, or currently pursuing Experience with wood-framed residential design or tilt-up / masonry commercial structures Exposure to Arizona-specific geotechnical and seismic design considerations Time Off Paid Time Off (PTO) — accrued from day one Seven (7) paid company holidays per year How to Apply Send your resume and a brief note about a project or field experience you're proud of to .
