The Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District (BCVWD) is seeking a motivated and talented engineering professional to join our team as an Associate Civil Engineer I . What You'll Be Doing As an Associate Civil Engineer I, you'll perform professional engineering work supporting the planning, design, operation, and construction of the District's water, sewer, recycled water, and capital improvement projects.

Your assignments may include:

Performing engineering planning and design for capital construction and improvement projects. Preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, plans, specifications, sketches, estimates, and technical reports. Supporting projects involving water supply, treatment, storage, distribution, and related infrastructure. Assisting with construction administration, including progress payments, change orders, and resolution of field and contractor issues. Conducting field investigations and monitoring construction for compliance with approved plans, specifications, and standards. Working with developers, contractors, consultants, design engineers, and other public agencies. Preparing engineering studies, cost estimates, requests for proposals, agreements, and other project documentation. Coordinating capital improvement and development projects with Operations, Finance, Administration, and other District staff. Having opportunities to present engineering designs and project plans to the Board of Directors and the community, with guidance as needed. Who We're Looking For We're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively, and turning technical concepts into practical solutions. A successful candidate will be able to: Apply civil and/or mechanical engineering principles to design and construction projects. Analyze engineering and mathematical problems and develop practical recommendations. Prepare accurate engineering calculations and cost estimates. Review and prepare engineering plans, specifications, reports, and related documents. Communicate technical information clearly with consultants, contractors, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Organize multiple assignments, establish priorities, and meet critical deadlines. Build effective working relationships while providing responsive and professional service.

Education & Experience :

Education:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.

Experience :

Three (3) to five (5) years of engineering experience involving the construction and design of water utility systems and facilities. The District may consider any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Licenses & Certifications Valid U.S. driver's license at the time of application. A California driver's license must be obtained following hire in accordance with California DMV regulations.
