Job Description

Position Overview The Entry-Level Civil Engineer will assist with the preparation of engineering plans, exhibits, reports, calculations, and project submittal packages for a wide range of civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and designers while gaining experience in project planning, design, permitting, and construction support. Desired Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field Recent graduates are encouraged to apply Experience 0 to 3 years of civil engineering experience Internship, co-op, or part-time engineering experience is beneficial but not required Interest in land development, public works, drainage, grading, utility, and transportation projects
Software Skills Required:
Basic experience with AutoCAD through coursework, internships, or professional experience Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including
Word, Excel, and Outlook Preferred:
Civil 3D
HEC-RAS SWMM
HydroFlow Bluebeam Revu Other engineering, hydrology, or hydraulic modeling software Professional Certifications (Preferred) The following certifications are beneficial but not required: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Ability and desire to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of civil engineering plans and construction documents Support the development of grading, drainage, utility, and site improvement designs Assist with engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates Help prepare technical reports, studies, exhibits, and permit applications Conduct engineering research and gather project information Coordinate with project managers and team members to meet project schedules and deadlines Participate in project meetings and collaborate with clients, agencies, and consultants when appropriate Desired Attributes Successful candidates will demonstrate: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication skills Professionalism, reliability, and a solid work ethic Ability to accept feedback and apply new knowledge quickly Desire to grow technically and professionally Willingness to work paid overtime when necessary to meet project objectives Work Environment This position is full-time and office-based in our Escondido location. Team members collaborate in a supportive environment while working on a variety of projects and disciplines.
