This full-time, on-site opportunity offers valuable public sector experience overseeing critical municipal utility and treatment facility improvements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing the construction phase of electrical infrastructure projects involving water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and utility control systems. Projects May Include Pump Station Replacement & Rehabilitation Projects Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation & Expansion Projects Utility Systems & Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Projects Key Responsibilities As the Electrical Resident Engineer, you will: Oversee construction activities for electrical systems on water and wastewater infrastructure projects Review project correspondence, RFIs, submittals, technical reports, construction documents, and specifications Lead and support inspection staff and office engineering personnel while ensuring QA/QC standards are met Monitor contractor progress against CPM schedules and proactively identify schedule impacts or delays Coordinate with contractors, designers, utility agencies, inspectors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery Provide technical guidance regarding electrical construction methods, materials, and compliance with project requirements Review and approve submittals, payment applications, change orders, and contract modifications Prepare engineers' estimates, schedules, and project documentation Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate progress reporting Serve as the primary field representative and liaison between the client and contractor Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university 10+ years of construction-phase experience on water, wastewater, pump station, or utility infrastructure projects Experience with field inspection, office engineering, and contract administration Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents

Preferred :

California Professional Engineer (PE) license Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Valid California Driver's License and proof of insurance Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Must be able to commute to Fountain Valley, CA.
