Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to join our diverse team in Palmdale, CA . This position is for the 2nd shift with a 4/10 (Monday
- Thursday) work schedule .
Essential Functions:
Perform stress analysis for primary and secondary structures. Review completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness. Collaborate effectively with other disciplines during the design development process. Present and explain structural issues and solutions clearly to internal management and customers. Maintain and improve part designs, equipment, and systems to support production deliveries. Develop comprehensive and practical solutions to complex problems that align with program objectives. Evaluate as-built products for compliance with standards, procedures, and specifications. Utilize structural analysis methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis and manipulation of large Finite Element Models. This position can be filled at either the Engineer or Principal Engineer level.Basic Qualifications:
Basic qualifications for a Structural Analysis Engineer include a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with no years of experience. Basic qualifications for a Principal Structural Analysis Engineer include a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD Degree with no experience. This position requires a current in-scope (within 6 years) DOD Secret Clearance as well as the ability to obtain Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures. Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.Preferred Qualifications:
Current DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance. Experience with Special Access Programs. Familiarity with PATRAN or FEMAP. Experience working on military aircraft. Knowledge of MIL-STD regulations as they pertain to aerospace structures.Primary Level Salary Range:
$91,800.00- $137,600.
Secondary Level Salary Range:
$114,000.00- $171,000.
