Job Description

Summary An established general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer to support project teams on ground-up and rehabilitation multifamily construction projects across California. This role works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to manage the administrative and technical side of construction, helping keep projects organized, on schedule, and on budget. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a strong foundation in construction project management with a builder that invests in its people and has a consistent pipeline of meaningful work. Key Responsibilities Support Project Managers in day-to-day project administration and documentation Manage the RFI and submittal processes from initiation through resolution Assist with subcontractor coordination, scope review, and contract administration Track project schedules and assist with short-term look-ahead planning Process change orders and assist with budget tracking and cost reporting Coordinate material procurement and track delivery schedules Maintain organized project files, meeting minutes, and correspondence logs Attend OAC meetings and assist in preparing project status updates Support closeout activities including punchlist tracking and final documentation Serve as a liaison between the field team and office on documentation and approvals Requirements 1 to 4 years of experience in a project engineer or assistant project manager role within a GC Multifamily, affordable housing, or residential construction experience preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred Compensation and Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid holidays and PTO Mentorship from experienced PMs and Superintendents Clear path toward full Project Manager responsibility with a growing builder
