Job Summary:
As a Staff Engineer I, you will perform a variety of entry-level engineering tasks related to the design and engineering of utilities, highways, public works, infrastructure, and land development projects. You will work under the direct supervision of one or more registered civil engineers with the goal of advancing applied engineering skills.Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide general entry-level support to the public works engineering department Utilize AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel for civil engineering grading, layout, drainage, utilities, and profile plan preparation Coordinate with agencies, utility companies, and clients Conduct site visits and field assessments Process permits for Caltrans Perform other duties as assignedMinimum Education Requirements:
B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accreditedUniversity Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of civil engineering principles, techniques, policies, and procedures Strong problem solving and analytical skills Ability to take initiative and learn on the job Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) Detail oriented Preferred Qualifications (skills/experience/certifications): Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2+ years of civil engineering design experience EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) License in California MSCE or higherBenefits:
