The Senior Structural Engineer provides technical leadership for complex structural projects and serves as a senior-level resource within the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing engineering staff, reviewing designs, managing high-value projects, and supporting business development efforts. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with strong leadership skills, deep technical expertise in structural design, and experience managing multiple complex projects. This position offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects and mentor developing engineers in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Lead structural design of complex precast concrete projects Review and approve structural calculations and design documents prepared by engineering staff Provide technical oversight for multiple projects simultaneously Direct design of commercial structures, parking structures, industrial facilities, mid-size bridges, and specialized precast systems Manage project risk and oversee engineering quality control Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and standards Develop and improve engineering design methodologies and standards Mentor engineering staff and support licensure development Participate in recruiting, training, and development of engineering personnel Assist sales and estimating teams with technical proposals Meet with architects, contractors, owners, and regulatory agencies Support litigation, expert review, or forensic investigations when required Lead value engineering initiatives Evaluate new products, technologies, and design methods Qualifications Master's degree in Structural Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license required 8+ years of structural engineering experience Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills Ability to manage multiple complex projects and teams Preferred Qualifications California PE license strongly preferred Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred 5+ years of precast concrete design experience Experience leading teams and managing client relationships Background in engineering quality assurance and risk management Work Environment /
