The duties and focus of this position is to support the Civil construction division including both administrative and operational tasks. It may include, but not limited to, working in the field and in the home office as the duties are applied. The position requires immediate and effective application of project engineer responsibilities in addition to learning new aspects of the business objectives established by Specialty Construction. The responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Project Managers and Field Supervisors with the planning, coordination, and execution of civil construction projects. Review and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents to support field operations and ensure project compliance. Monitor daily project activities, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment to maintain quality, safety, and schedule requirements. Support project administration by managing submittals, RFIs, procurement, purchase orders, subcontract documentation, and project records. Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, progress reporting, change orders, extra work, and monthly payment applications. Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and logistics while maintaining strong relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel. Assist with estimating activities, including quantity take-offs, obtaining vendor and subcontractor pricing, and preparing cost comparisons. Promote a safe and productive work environment while developing the technical and leadership skills necessary for advancement into a Project Manager role. Education Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience. Knowledge, skills, and abilities Proficiency with all MS Office products, Procore, and Bluebeam Understanding of scheduling software, Primavera P6 Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawing and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.
Annual Salary Range:
$85k-115k. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, locations and other factors permitted by law.
