Job Description

Overview We are a growing general contractor specializing in multifamily, affordable housing, and commercial construction projects throughout California. We are looking for a highly organized and motivated Project Engineer to join our team and assist in the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow into a Project Manager role while working alongside an experienced leadership team. This energetic position offers the opportunity to lead project planning, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality infrastructure developments. As a key contributor, you will utilize your expertise in construction management software, scheduling, and cost control to drive project success while fostering a collaborative and safety-focused environment. Responsibilities Assist Project Managers with all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Manage and track RFIs, submittals, ASIs, change orders, and project documentation. Maintain accurate project files using Procore . Prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and follow-up action items. Coordinate and participate in Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings . Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP plans and specifications. Assist with subcontractor coordination and scheduling. Track project budgets, commitments, and cost reports. Prepare and update project logs and reports. Coordinate material procurement and deliveries. Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays. Communicate with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and field personnel. Support project closeout by collecting warranties, O&M manuals, and as-built documents. Experience Required 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager in commercial or multifamily construction. Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans. Experience with Procore . Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel . Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Self-motivated with strong attention to detail. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required). Experience with affordable housing or multifamily construction. Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6. Knowledge of CSI divisions and construction documentation. Experience preparing pay applications and change orders. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
