Job Description
Field Engineer / Project Engineer Position Summary The Field Engineer / Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and owners to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents and quality standards. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both office and field environments. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination Assist with daily project management and field operations. Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field crews. Support project scheduling, sequencing, and logistics planning. Help track project progress, quantities, manpower, and productivity. Participate in project meetings and communicate action items effectively. Document Control & Administration Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project correspondence. Maintain current project drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Assist with permit tracking, inspections, and closeout documentation. Prepare daily reports and project status updates. Field Engineering Support Verify field conditions, measurements, layouts, and installations. Assist with coordination between architectural, structural, civil, and MEP trades. Identify and help resolve field conflicts or constructability issues. Support quality control efforts to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Safety & Compliance Promote and support jobsite safety initiatives and company safety standards. Assist with implementation of site-specific safety plans and compliance requirements. Help ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and project requirements. Cost & Schedule Support Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, and cost control. Support procurement and material tracking activities. Monitor schedule milestones and help identify potential delays or impacts. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. 1-5+ years of construction, engineering, or project coordination experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or MS Project is a plus.
