Type:
full-time Position overview: Theorem Design Group is searching for a transportation stormwater engineer who is excited to advance their career in an open, transparent, and collaborative work environment. In this role, you will help identify stormwater solutions on diverse Colorado transportation projects varying from small local agency projects to massive interstate highway projects with federal oversight. Here, you will have a voice in developing the firm's culture, have exposure to business practices beyond design delivery, help identify project pursuits, and gain direct exposure to clients all while working with a group of engineers that are professional, collaborative, and experienced in their respective fields. Responsibilities:
In this role, you will contribute to a variety of stormwater and drainage design efforts, which may include: Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis Drainage and water quality design (permanent and temporary) Scour analysis for bridges and culverts Floodplain analysis Site grading Preparation of plans, specifications, and design reports Participation in quality control process to maintain high design standards Depending on your experience, you may also: Take ownership of key design elements or task areas Support or lead coordination with clients and subconsultants Mentor junior staff or contribute to internal knowledge sharing Across all levels, team members: Communicate progress and collaborate to keep projects on track Work closely with colleagues, partners, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions Contribute to a flexible, team-oriented environment where people step in to support project needs
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in transportation related stormwater design engineering Proof of passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and in preparation of the PE exam CAD and other design software experience associated with transportation and stormwater design Familiarity with MS Office, Bluebeam, Adobe and other data and report development software Ability and openness to work remotely and/or in hybrid environment in
Colorado Preferred Qualifications:
Colorado PE license or PE license from another state with the ability to obtain a Colorado License within 6 months of employment Proficiency or experience with OpenRoads Designer HEC-RAS and/or SRH-2D modeling experience Project experience with Mile High Flood District oversight CDOT or similar state agency engineering project experience Project or task management experience Established relationships with clients at Colorado local agencies and/or CDOT Understanding of flood risk analysis and preparation of NFIP compliant CLOMRs and LOMRs Design Build and/or CMGC project delivery experience
Annual Salary Range:
$90,000 to $160,000 - Actual compensation is subject to variation depending on education, experience, and matching qualifications.

About Theorem:
Theorem was founded in 2022 and to provide roadway, drainage, and structural engineering services for CDOT and Colorado local agencies. Theorem serves as both the prime consultant or as a key subconsultant on projects and currently has several on-call contracts with both state and local agencies. Some agencies that Theorem has recently worked with include: CDOT, City of Aurora, Town of Bennett, City of Centennial, Town of Gypsum, City of Littleton, Town of Parker, City of Pueblo, and City of Steamboat Springs. Theorem has worked on a variety of delivery formats including Design Build, CM/GC, and design bid build. Theorem is registered as an Emerging Small Business (ESB) with CDOT, a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) with the City of Denver and is a graduate of the CDOT mentor protégé program
