Job Description
Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our Bridges team in Denver CO in Summer 2026, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in a variety of engineering tasks for both private and public sector clients; such as design, analysis, and maintenance of various structural systems including bridges, and other infrastructure projects. In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team taking on a variety of tasks that blend your theoretical knowledge with practical application. Under the guidance of professional engineers, architects and other senior technical staff you'll have the opportunity to work on projects that focus on structural design and analysis of bridges.
Your Responsibilities May Include:
Performs evaluations of structures of various degrees of complexity Prepares plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates under the supervision of experienced engineers Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create structural models Contribute to the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports Participate in project meetings and communicate with clients under supervision Conduct site visits to assess existing structures or monitor construction progress In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programsIdeally, You Will Have:
In pursuit of a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering 3.0 GPA Working knowledge of MicroStation/OpenRoads/OpenBridge A previous internship related to bridge design Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
