About the Role

As a Structural Engineer, youll play a critical role in the design, analysis, testing, and certification of sophisticated aerospace and vehicle systems. From advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated ground vehicles and test platforms, your expertise will help ensure structural integrity, safety, and performance throughout the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to solve complex structural challenges, validate designs, and contribute to the successful delivery of innovative solutions that support critical missions and next-generation technologies.

What Youll DoStructural Analysis & Design

Perform static and dynamic structural analyses using hand calculations and industry-standard Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.

Analyze metallic structures, including steel and aluminum components, welded assemblies, and bolted connections.

Support the design and evaluation of composite and additive manufacturing (AM) structures when required.

Assess structures subjected to shock, vibration, thermal, and dynamic loading environments.

Engineering Development

Lead structural analysis activities across the product lifecycle, from concept development through testing and certification.

Review engineering designs and provide recommendations to optimize structural performance and reliability.

Develop load cases, structural requirements, and engineering methodologies.

Collaboration & Integration

Partner with cross-functional design and development teams to integrate structural solutions into broader system architectures.

Support mechanical design efforts, material and hardware selections, and production considerations.

Contribute technical expertise during design reviews and engineering decision-making processes.

Testing & Documentation

Oversee structural test planning, execution, and data evaluation.

Author detailed substantiation reports and engineering documentation.

Verify compliance with applicable design standards, requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Required QualificationsEducation

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Typically 6+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Technical Skills & Experience

Advanced knowledge of structural analysis and design principles and practices.

Experience conducting static and dynamic analyses using:

Hand calculation methods

FEMAP

MSC Patran

Nastran

Experience analyzing:

Steel and aluminum structures

Welded joints and bolted connections

Components exposed to shock and vibration environments

Ability to author structural substantiation reports.

Experience working within multidisciplinary design and development teams.

Understanding of engineering principles, structural loads, and requirements development.

Experience in the Defense, Automotive, Maritime, Heavy Equipment, or Aerospace industries.

Knowledge of:

Mechanical design principles

Parametric design

Model-Based Definition (MBD)

Material and hardware selection

Manufacturing and production processes

Experience analyzing structures in harsh thermal and dynamic environments.

Experience evaluating structures exposed to rocket plume loads.

Advanced FEMAP expertise.

Experience with vehicle dynamics, suspension systems, and structural load development.

Familiarity with LS-DYNA3D and advanced simulation techniques.

Physical & Working ConditionsPhysical Requirements

Ability to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs or steps as needed.

Frequent use of hands and fingers requiring dexterity and repetitive motion.

Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Primarily office and engineering environment.

Rare exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

Rare exposure to fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, or loud noise.

Pay Details:

$73.89 per hour
