Project Area:
Colorado Springs, CO to Casper, WY Growling Bear Co., Inc. is a commercial general contractor based in Greeley, Colorado. The majority of our work is with government entities, including Federal, State, City, County, and School District clients. Our projects range in size up to $5 million in hard construction costs. We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Field Engineer to support our commercial construction projects. Position Summary The Field Engineer will assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day‑to‑day project execution, documentation, and field coordination. This position plays a key role in supporting field operations, project documentation, and overall project success. Responsibilities Assist Project Managers with project coordination and administration Assist Superintendents with field engineering and site activities Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, O&M manuals, and project documentation Assist with change order pricing and preparation Support subcontractor procurement, project buyout, and contract administration Perform field engineering tasks, quantity tracking, and basic layout support Assist with quality control documentation and compliance Support erosion control plan implementation and maintenance, where applicable Maintain organized project records and logs Qualifications Minimum 1 year of commercial construction experience, or Degree in Construction Management or a related field Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work in both office and field environments Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Project Knowledge of quality control procedures Experience with erosion control plans and inspections OSHA 30‑Hour training Prior experience on public or government projects Additional Information Projects are located throughout Colorado and southern Wyoming.
