Bentley Welding, Inc. (BWI) is a certified welding, energy services, and metalworking company located in Greeley, Colorado.
Position Summary:
The Material Handling Specialist is a key team member responsible for managing the flow of materials and inventory in a fast-paced fabrication environment. This role ensures that materials are efficiently received, stored, and delivered to production areas, maintaining accuracy and compliance with safety standards. The Specialist plays a critical role in supporting production schedules and ensuring the overall efficiency of the fabrication process.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily receipt of inventory, consumables, customer property, and all other company assets. Validate physical quantities received against purchase orders to ensure accuracy of goods received. Maintain records of goods received and enter data into the relevant database. Deliver materials to production areas based on job orders and schedules. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move heavy materials safely. Allocate goods from stock based on work orders that identify the required items. Ensure outgoing inventory items are suitably packed and issued with correct and complete documentation. Participate in all required inventory activities and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and control. Perform inventory cycle counting and support periodic physical counts. Communicate with suppliers regarding the ordering of goods. Collaborate with the production and procurement teams to meet material needs. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in material handling or logistics preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse or material handling role, ideally in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office. Ability to lift and move heavy materials, up to [weight capacity] safely. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of workplace safety standards and protocols. Excellent work ethic, reliability, and self-motivation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a fabrication, welding, or manufacturing company. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or just-in-time (JIT) inventory systems.
