DCS Apply Now Job Description AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Bridge Engineer to be based in Rocky Hill, CT. In this role, the ideal candidate will work under the guidance of experienced bridge engineers performing analysis and design of bridge structures and other transportation related structures. This position is an opportunity to work within a well-established and very successful group that offers a diverse range of projects, technical challenges and career development opportunities. This position is expected to begin in Summer 2027. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Preparation and checking of design calculations for bridges and other transportation related structures. Load rating of existing bridges. Preparation of construction drawings which include
  • plans, structural sections, and details.
Preparation of quantity calculations. Preparation of construction cost estimates. Preparation of reports and technical specifications. Shop drawing review and design services during construction. Visual survey and structural observations of existing building structures for rehabilitations/repair projects. Coordination with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed. Collection and analysis of data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering or related field Valid US Driver's License is required for this position. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Civil Engineer with an emphasis in structural engineering Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Proficiency with Microstation, OpenBridge, and similar computer software The preferred candidate would be detailed oriented and have strong skills in structural analysis, steel and concrete design; and the ability to work in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, a strong work ethic, and a willing desire to learn. Additional Information Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
