Must be hands-on, organized, strategic, focused, and skilled with good communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to read construction blueprints. The ability to be highly organized and communicate in a professional manner with JK2 staff, owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors is integral to this position. A can-do attitude is a necessity if you want to be successful at JK2 Construction. The Construction Project Engineer will have the following principal duties and responsibilities: Review, organize, maintain, and process contract documents and shop drawings Verify shop drawings and submittals from subcontractors meet the specifications on the drawings or project specifications Be familiar with and build/maintain a good relationship with the local building and utility authorities Monitor long lead items needed for compliance with the project schedule Assist in the production/compilation of project close-out documents for submittal to the owner Assist in the production and tracking of the Punch List completion May attend and prepare OAC meeting minutes, then distribution to all attendees Originate and/or review submittal log, and distribute RFI's and Submittals to pertinent parties Ability to communicate well via telephone to schedule work and resolve problems Must be a creative thinker and possess ability to solve problems Manage in such a manner as to promote professionalism and company values when dealing with owners, subcontractors, and subordinates Willing to assist subcontractors and material suppliers as needed to complete the scope of work for a successful project Theme park work will require coordination of access, badging, and parking for all vendors during the course of a project and may include night work Able/willing to use mobile technology for collaboration/communication with the entire construction team and in the performance of job duties The minimum skill level includes technical expertise in blueprint reading, ability to communicate and lead subcontractors in execution of their work including concrete, masonry, structural modification, demolition, carpentry and other construction trades. We require a minimum of a High School diploma with 3-5 years of experience or a college degree in construction management or engineering with 1 year experience.
