Revit Driver's License Time management Full Job Description We have an immediate opening for a Structural Engineer / Project Manager to work on construction, restoration, and inspection projects. The ideal candidate will participate in field inspections, monitor contractor work, prepare cost estimates, write observation reports, and assist with project coordination. The candidate must be comfortable working at heights and in outdoor field conditions. Duties & Responsibilities Perform field observations and on-site inspections to monitor construction progress, document existing conditions, and verify compliance with design drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and standards. Prepare detailed written observation reports identifying field conditions, deviations, and non-conformance items. Perform 40/50/60-year inspections, prepare reports, cost estimates, repair quantity take-offs, field sketches, calculations, measurements, and photographic documentation. Observe, document, and evaluate work in progress, including testing protocols and field testing. Verify quantities of work performed and confirm that percentages completed are consistent with contractor billings. Review Payment Applications, Change Orders, Extensions of Time, RFIs, and related project documents for accuracy, contractual compliance, and consistency with field conditions. Organize field data to support analysis, problem-solving, and project documentation. Work closely with team members to understand project scope, budget, goals, deliverables, and schedules. Proactively monitor progress, schedules, and budgets to ensure project targets are met. Attend internal, external, OAC, and client meetings as required, and respond to questions from clients, contractors, consultants, vendors, organizations, and other project stakeholders. Represent clients during the bidding process, including obtaining bids and assisting with the award of construction contracts. Prepare specifications and Project Manuals for bidding and construction. Support all phases of restoration construction projects, including construction documents, cost estimating, bidding/procurement, permitting, and contract negotiations. Manage multiple deadlines, schedules, and workflows with strong organization, planning, time management, and interpersonal skills. Establish strong working relationships with team members, owners/clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors. Remain self-motivated, interested in career advancement, and committed to office standards, policies, and project schedules. Promptly inform the Project Manager and/or Department Head of any conflicts or issues related to assigned work. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering, FE, exam preferred. Engineer Intern, EI, or Engineer in Training, EIT, registration preferred. Valid State of Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation required. Work Experience Experience with existing building construction practices and renovation work. Experience in concrete restoration of existing buildings. Experience with BIM/drafting software such as Revit and AutoCAD preferred. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and PDF Expert preferred. Licenses & Certifications Valid United States Driver's License required, as the position requires travel to and from client sites. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred. Skills Bilingual. Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. Knowledge of architectural and engineering design theories/concepts related to the restoration of existing structures. Physical Demands Height and Access Equipment Ability to safely operate and use ladders, scaffolds, swing stages, boom lifts, and other access equipment as required. Ability to work safely at heights. Outdoor Environment Ability to work outdoors for extended periods, including periods beyond 3 hours. Ability to work in diverse weather conditions, including temperatures above 85°F or below 40°F, humidity above 90%, rain, and wind. Mobility Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including on uneven or challenging terrain. Scheduling Flexibility Ability to adjust lunch hours based on project demands, including working through regular lunch times when necessary.
