Diversity of Experience:

In a years' time, you will likely work on a wide range of 30 to 50 projects at our firm. At a large firm, you may only work on 1 to 2 projects in a year, often consisting only of structural steel or reinforced concrete. By contrast, with our firm, you will likely work on Reinforced Masonry, Light Gauge, Aluminum, and Wood in addition to reinforced concrete and structural steel. This diverse experience aids in passing the SE examination.

Learning Opportunities:

Our firm has a budget for training many times that of the nationalaverage for structural firms.

This includes study programs for the SE exam, advanced structural design classes, and specialized training such as blast and progressive collapse design, rope access, FAA Drone License, waterproofing, roof inspection etc. At a large firm, you may have a hard time having the company sponsor your learning, not to mention attendance at industry conferences. Access to Upper management : At our firm you will have direct access to the founder Scott Weiland PE SE from whom you will receive mentoring and training from a 40+ year structural and waterproofing engineering veteran. Your closed-door office will be just down the hall from his. Our firm has much more transparency than a large firm where you may be the last to know if the firm is facing slow or uncertain times. Also, at large firms, you may be lucky to someday meet the corporate executives.

Faster Advancement:

Access to upper management also allows them to monitor and mentor your progress, which results in quicker advancement and higher compensation for high performing staff. Larger firms may stifle your progress with set time frames for advancement.

Job Security:
