Job Description

Heavy Civil Project Engineer Boise, ID $80,000 - $110,000 Base Salary A well-established heavy civil general contractor is actively seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of complex infrastructure and public works projects throughout the Boise region. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team with a strong backlog of work across transportation, utilities, and site development. This role offers hands-on exposure to field operations and project management, making it ideal for someone looking to grow into a Project Manager long-term.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project execution Support scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking efforts Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries Process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation Track project quantities and support monthly cost reporting Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality control measures Participate in progress meetings and maintain clear communication across project teams
Experience Needed:
1-5 years of experience with a general contractor, preferably in heavy civil or public works construction Exposure to projects involving roadway, underground utilities, earthwork, or infrastructure Experience supporting field operations and/or project management teams Familiarity with project documentation processes (RFIs, submittals, change orders)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, HCSS, or similar is a plus) EIT certification or working toward it is a plus, but not required
