Job Description

This Opportunity About the Role Our Industrial Center of Excellence (ICoE) team at WSP is seeking an Early Career Structural Engineer to join our team. Our group specializes in high-performing projects with a focus on the future in food and beverage, Federal, and industrial facility design. Our goal is to deliver excellent projects together with a positive experience for our clients and our communities alike. You'll be asked to help develop construction documents for a variety of clients. We are flexible on location—this role can be based in Meridian, ID; Minneapolis, MN; or Madison, WI. Your Impact A major component of our design process relies on Building Information Modeling (BIM). In particular, the use of Autodesk Revit Structural is one of the integrated collaboration tools used in communicating 3-D design to our project teams, owners, and construction professionals. There is a lot of latitude for decision-making; we're not interested in micromanaging. We expect everyone on the team to assume ownership of the project's goals and success Design and analyze structural systems for building cores, shells, and foundations, including steel, concrete, and masonry elements. Prepare structural drawings, specifications, and calculations in compliance with applicable codes (IBC, ACI, AISC). Coordinate with architects and other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) to integrate structural design into overall facility plans. Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction phase support. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering. 0-1 years of experience in structural design for facilities or industrial projects. Familiarity with structural analysis and design software, including STAAD, RAM and Risa, as well as AutoCAD, and Revit. Knowledge of building codes and standards; strong technical writing and coordination skills. Preferred Qualifications EIT license preferred Experience with Navisworks Experience with food & beverage or federal facility projects; familiarity with BIM workflows.
