Job Description

Structural Engineer LVI Associates - 4.4 Aurora, IL Job Details Full-time $130,000 - $200,000 a year 9 hours ago Qualifications Professional Engineer Full Job Description Structural Engineer - Water & Wastewater Equipment Aurora, IL | 5 days on-site | Base up to $200k We're a well-established leader in custom-engineered water and wastewater treatment equipment, trusted by consulting engineers, plant owners and operators across the country. Operating through several of the longest-tenured brands in the industry, we design and manufacture the equipment that keeps municipal and industrial water infrastructure running, from headworks and clarification through to anaerobic digestion and biological treatment. We're a 150-person business that's growing fast, and we're hiring a Structural Engineer to help us keep up with the work coming through the door. This is a genuine opportunity to be the technical backbone of our structural output and grow into something bigger as the team expands. What you'll be doing Perform structural analysis and design for equipment, frames, supports, foundations and related systems across our product line. Review, stamp and seal custom project designs, making sure everything is structurally sound before it goes out the door. Most of our projects are bespoke, so no two days look the same. Make design revisions, recommendations and evaluations to improve designs and reduce cost while still meeting contract requirements. Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings and specifications. Collaborate across disciplines with our mechanical, process and project engineering teams to deliver integrated, constructible designs. Support project execution by answering technical queries, reviewing submittals and providing engineering clarification. Contribute to continuous improvement work focused on design efficiency, manufacturability and cost reduction. What we're looking for Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis. An SE licence is ideally required, given the need to stamp and seal custom designs in Illinois. Strong PE-qualified engineers working toward their SE will also be considered. Solid structural design background. Direct water/wastewater experience is a bonus, not a dealbreaker. We've hired from adjacent backgrounds, including bridge and vertical building engineers, where the fundamentals are strong. Working knowledge of relevant structural design codes and standards, plus proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. This role is purely technical. No business development is required (we have a dedicated BD team), and you won't be managing a team on day one. That said, if you've got management experience, it's a real plus as we grow and eventually need someone to lead the structural function. Why join us Real progression. We prefer to promote from within and give people the tools to grow. The path here runs Structural Engineer, to Senior, to Lead, to Manager, and potentially into VP of Engineering as the department scales. Licensure support. We reimburse exam and licensure costs for engineers working toward their SE or PE. With SE pass rates now sitting around 10%, having a firm that backs you matters. Cross-team collaboration. Our size means departments actually work together rather than sitting in silos. We respect your time.
Our process is refreshingly quick:
typically a phone interview, an on-site interview, and a short screen. No seven-round marathons. Competitive base. Base salary runs up to $150k, with room to negotiate beyond that for an exceptional candidate. The details
