Job Description

CIVIL PROJECT ENGINEER/ APM
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the delivery of transportation infrastructure projects with a focus on DOT bridge, rail, transit - new construction and rehabilitation projects. This role will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and manage bridge and transportation structures while ensuring compliance with applicable DOT standards. Reports to Project Manager and Project Executives. Our client has an excellent industry reputation, possess a strong background and track record of work that includes highly visible and coplex pojects and works mostly local or within a tight radius of Chicago. They are a well established ESOP Specialty/ Niche contractor with solid compensation and paid benefits. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management and delivery of construction projects for private, state and local DOT agencies.
  • Prepare and review structural analysis, calculations, plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, subconsultants, and internal design teams.
  • Support project schedules, budgets, and resource planning.
  • Participate in bridge inspections, rehabilitation design, and load ratings when applicable.
  • Ensure compliance
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and CAD designers.
  • Assist in proposal preparation and client communication as needed. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • 4-5years of experience in bridge, rail, transit/ transportation structures.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 1-2 years preferred.
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills.
