Globetrotters is seeking a talented Construction Engineer for immediate employment in our downtown Chicago office to provide engineering services on complex highway and infrastructure projects. You will be exposed to and may have the chance to work on, among other projects, highway design, traffic studies, bridges, drainage, storm water management. You may be alternate between design work and construction management. Under the guidance of licensed engineers, you may be asked to : Support construction administration activities throughout project lifecycles Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses Prepare drawings and visual aids to support design and construction efforts Conduct field visits and produce detailed inspection reports Develop and edit technical specifications and contract documents Perform additional duties as assigned We are looking for someone who has : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Construction Management emphasis preferred Previous construction management internship experience preferred Valid driver's license required Knowledge of roadway construction plans and specifications Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GEOPAK Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment FE/EIT certification preferred Ability to work on-site five days per week required At Globetrotters, you are offered the diverse opportunities that are found at a larger firm but are within the more collaborative and close-knit environment of a mid-size firm. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
