Vertical Building Construction Overview:
Based in Morton, IL and is comprised of a team of professional engineers, structural engineers and architects that works exclusively within the post-frame frame industry. We work in a variety of project sectors including agricultural, commercial, industrial and residential.
Responsibilities:
  • Review post frame building plans and provide certification for code compliance.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and design using hand calculations and software engineering tools.
  • Work in teams and collaborate with inter-disciplinary group of professionals responsible for projects and processes.
  • Offer design and construction solutions that are cost effective.
  • Direct the development of building structural plans by utilizing drafting/plan review personnel.
  • Be an engineering and building code resource throughout the life cycle of a project; including pre-sale, design and construction.
Qualifications:
  • Hold a Professional Engineering or Structural Engineer license in at least one state (with the ability to get licensed in other states) and with the ability to certify building structural plans.
  • Strong background in the analysis and design of wood structures (preferred), concrete or metal structures as well as a working knowledge of the following codes and standards:
IBC, ASCE
7, NDS, ACI and AISC.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, a positive, outgoing attitude and work well in a team setting.
