This role collaborates closely with project managers, surveyors, and external consultants to guide projects from early concept through permitting and construction. The ideal candidate brings strong technical capability, confidence in decision‑making, and the ability to manage multiple active projects in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and stamp civil engineering plans including grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout Interpret project specifications, engineering drawings, and survey data Coordinate with municipalities, agencies, and clients throughout the permitting process Perform engineering calculations and conduct quality control reviews on deliverables Provide technical guidance to project managers during project execution Participate in post‑project reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Mentor junior engineers and technicians as needed Required Qualifications Active Professional Engineer (Civil) license Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D Experience with grading, drainage, and site utility design Ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects Experience with land development and subdivision design Familiarity with municipal and state‑level submittal requirements Strong written communication skills for client‑facing deliverables Ideal Candidate Profile Self‑directed, accountable, and solutions‑oriented Thrives in a small, high‑performance team environment Comfortable with transparent communication and results‑driven expectations Strong organizational and time‑management skills Clear communicator with both clients and internal teams Collaborative but capable of working independently Detail‑oriented with a quality‑first mindset Active PE license already in hand (no pending reciprocity) Experience at a small‑to‑mid‑sized civil firm with direct client interaction Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget Familiarity with regional permitting processes and agency requirements What Makes a Candidate Stand Out Deep experience in land development and site design from concept through construction Strong Civil 3D proficiency, including surfaces, corridors, pipe networks, and plan production workflows Ability to take full ownership of project engineering with minimal oversight Demonstrated success working directly with clients, municipalities, and reviewing agencies History of mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development
