Job Overview Alexander Mechanical is seeking a highly organized and motivated Project Engineer to support our Project Managers and project teams. This role is focused on project coordination, documentation, communication, tracking, and follow-up. The Project Engineer will help keep project information organized and moving by supporting submittals, RFIs, purchase orders, meeting documentation, project records, and other day-to-day project needs. This is a strong opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working with multiple priorities, and interested in developing experience in commercial mechanical construction. Previous mechanical construction experience is not required. Duties Provide administrative and project coordination support to Project Managers and assigned project teams. Assist with project setup and maintain organized electronic and paper project files. Prepare, track, distribute, and maintain project documentation and correspondence. Assist with submittals, RFIs, transmittals, logs, and other project-related documentation. Help prepare, process, and track purchase orders, material requests, and supporting documentation. Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, customers, field personnel, and internal departments as directed by the Project Manager. Assist with meeting preparation, meeting notes, action items, and project follow-up. Track outstanding project items, due dates, required documentation, and responses. Assist with change order documentation, project cost information, and supporting records. Maintain accurate project information in company systems, spreadsheets, logs, and reports. Assist with scheduling, coordination, and communication of project activities. Support project closeout by organizing required documents, outstanding items, and final records. Support multiple Project Managers and projects while maintaining accuracy and timely follow-through. Perform other related duties as assigned. Experience Previous administrative, project coordination, office, or construction experience preferred, but not required. Education in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is a plus, but not required. Mechanical construction experience is not required. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and follow through on multiple open items. Comfortable working with spreadsheets, documents, electronic records, and project tracking systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new processes, systems, and construction terminology.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
