Job Description

Douglas County is looking for qualified applicants to fill the position of Civil Engineer in the Public Works Department in Lawrence, KS. This position will be filled as a CE I or CE II based on prior knowledge and experience. This position works with a team providing technical support for department operations, designing road, bridge and culvert projects, and coordinating with landowners and outside agencies. Requirements include a BSCE degree and Kansas PE license. Refer to the full position descriptions for detailed job duties and requirements. Starting salary will depend on experience. The hourly salary range for CE I with 5 to 10 years of related experience is $38.36-$55.62 and for CE II with 10 to 15 years of related experience is $43.91-$63.66.
