As an engineer, your main responsibility is designing these structures in Autodesk Inventor, creating shop drawings, and exploring new ideas. During the design phase, every detail will need to be accounted for to prevent loss of installation time. You will need to communicate with manufacturing and the installers from time to time to ensure the best product is being produced. Responsibilities:
Extract actionable data from 3D CAD models, including 3D files for laser fabrication, shop drawings, accurate Bill of Materials, and detailed instructional drawings for field crews Design a diverse range of structural elements, including but not limited to columns, trusses, headers / joists, flat and formed connection plates, flashing, gutters and custom mechanical components Help oversee projects from beginning to end Support sales, project management, and manufacturing with day-to-day operations Implement new ideas and processes to improve quality, productivity, and costs Collaborate with the manufacturing floor as needed Document issues to avoid repeatability
Qualifications:
Proficiency using Inventor and / or Revit Minimum Associate's degree in related field Minimum of 5 years of professional experience Ability to be open minded, innovative and have a hands-on approach Ability to interpret architectural drawings and convert them to shop drawings Ability to stay organized and communicate information from the drawing to the manufacturing floor Ability to be a team player, prioritize deadlines, independent problem solving, and multitasking Willingness to change direction at a moment's notice to meet a new deadline or business need Flexibility to travel as it may be required from time to time Work overtime when needed
