May be available on a case-by-case basis Position Overview Sirius Staffing is seeking a Precast Structural Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This role will support the structural design, fabrication, and erection of precast and prestressed concrete systems. The engineer will perform structural calculations, review drawings, and work closely with detailing, production, quality, and field teams to ensure components are designed and manufactured in accordance with project requirements. Responsibilities Perform structural design and analysis of precast and prestressed concrete components, including beams, columns, wall panels, piles, foundations, and related systems. Prepare and review structural calculations, design documentation, shop drawings, and erection drawings. Support the design of specialty concrete systems, including underground utility trenches, duct banks, deep foundations, and precast piles. Evaluate structural load paths, connections, lifting conditions, and erection stability. Provide engineering support during fabrication and field erection. Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, design changes, and engineering revisions. Identify design or fabrication issues and coordinate corrective actions before components are cast. Collaborate with detailing, production, quality, project management, and field teams. Ensure designs comply with applicable IBC, ACI, PCI, and project-specific requirements. Support value-engineering and constructability improvements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Engineer Intern / Engineer-in-Training (EI/EIT) certification required. Approximately four or more years of structural engineering experience preferred. Direct experience with precast and/or prestressed concrete design required. Experience performing structural calculations, analysis, and design. Experience reviewing structural, shop, fabrication, or erection drawings. Strong understanding of reinforced-concrete design, structural load paths, and engineering fundamentals. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience designing precast beams, columns, wall panels, piles, or similar components. Knowledge of PCI, ACI, and IBC standards. Experience with precast connections, lifting, fabrication, and erection requirements. Experience with deep foundations, buried structures, or specialty concrete systems. Experience with structural software such as ETABS, Tekla Tedds, Eriksson Technologies, RISA, STAAD, RAM, or comparable platforms. Additional Requirements Candidates must successfully complete all required pre-employment screening and onboarding requirements, which may include drug screening, physical testing, and required site procedures.
