Job Description

Company Summary A leading power generation developer and operator is seeking a Project Development Engineer to support the development of thermal and energy transition projects across the U.S., including combined cycle facilities with carbon capture and hydrogen capabilities. The team developed and financed over ~14 GW of generation and brought ~6.8 GW online since 2010, with a pipeline exceeding 10 GW that includes renewables, energy storage, and carbon capture-enabled projects. The company operates nationwide with projects across dozens of U.S. states and is owned by leading PE manufacturer, which is backing continued expansion into both renewables and next-generation thermal technologies Key Responsibilities Support end-to-end project development from site evaluation through financial close and construction support Evaluate project sites and energy technologies, including carbon capture and hydrogen integration Lead development of plant layouts, technical specifications, permitting, interconnection, and auxiliary systems Prepare RFPs and evaluate/select EPC contractors Support EPC and interconnection contract negotiations Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants (engineering, environmental, OEMs, contractors) Track project progress, budgets, and key deliverables for leadership Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field preferred) 6-10+ years of experience in power generation or combined cycle project development Exposure to carbon capture and/or hydrogen technologies preferred Strong understanding of energy systems, engineering design, and contracting processes Experience with design drawings, GIS, and spatial analysis tools Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and organizational skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and company holidays Professional development and training opportunities Flexible work environment Apply today!
