Job Description

Project EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a proactive Project Engineer to lead technical delivery across multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through commissioning. The role combines engineering design, project management and on-site coordination to ensure safe, timely and cost-effective completion in accordance with client requirements, contract terms and industry standards. The ideal candidate will bridge technical and commercial aspects, support procurement and construction activities, and drive continuous improvement in quality and risk management.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate engineering design activities across mechanical, electrical and structural disciplines to meet project requirements and schedules.

Develop, review and approve design deliverables including drawings (AutoCAD, Revit), 3D models (SolidWorks, BIM) and calculations (structural analysis, FEA).Create and maintain project schedules and progress reports using MS Project and Primavera P6; track milestones, resources and deliverables.

Prepare and manage technical specifications, P&ID development, instrumentation layouts, SCADA/PLC and control system requirements.

Oversee procurement and vendor management: evaluate technical proposals, support bid evaluations, and manage contract administration and compliance.

Manage project budgets, cost estimating and forecasting; identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain financial controls.

Lead commissioning, testing and start-up activities; develop FAT/SAT protocols and witness system validations.

Implement quality assurance and quality control processes; ensure compliance with ISO standards and project QA plans.

Perform risk assessments, HAZOP facilitation, root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to mitigate technical and schedule risks.

Coordinate construction management activities on site, resolve technical queries, and supervise installation to ensure safe and code-compliant execution.

Collaborate with stakeholders including clients, subcontractors and disciplines to resolve interface issues and ensure successful project handover.

Mentor junior engineers, review technical work, and promote best practices in engineering design and safety.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related discipline; Masters degree or professional registration (PE, Chartered Engineer) preferred.3+ years of project engineering experience in industrial, infrastructure, building services or EPC environments; experience across the full project lifecycle (design through commissioning).Proven capability in engineering design tools: AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, BIM; familiarity with ANSYS, FEA and MATLAB an advantage.

Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, electrical systems, mechanical systems, structural analysis, P&ID development, SCADA, PLC and controls.

Strong project management skills with experience using MS Project and Primavera P6, budgeting, cost estimating and schedule control.
