You will perform quality assurance review of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by A/E design firms. You will conduct site investigation field trips to project sites You will prepare correspondence, reports, and cost analyses. Prepares written and oral presentations regarding structural-related topics. You will assist with construction quality assurance for active construction projects including the following activities; submittal review, responding to RFIs, quality assurance site visits and inspections, commissioning, and project closeout. Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Producing and developing civil engineering design packages, including budgeting, design drawings, plans, specifications and design-build requests for proposal; 2) Reviewing civil engineering design submissions to provide subject matter expert acceptance recommendations to officials; 3) Providing a wide range of shore based engineering projects in relation to site developments, roads, airfields, water supply, sewer systems, drainage, dredging, waste facilities, shore protection, and other large/industrial civil engineering projects; and 4) Providing civil engineering design consultation services utilizing software/systems (i.e. Whole Building Design Guide-WBGD, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Microsoft, and other engineering design software).
