Project Engineer II TGW Systems Inc - 3.6 Grand Rapids, MI Job Details 23 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Delegation Full Job Description The Project Engineer II serves as mechanical and technical lead on complex integrated material-handling systems projects. This role works closely with the rest of the project team, including the customer and involved vendors, to ensure overall realization and success of the project. The Project Engineer II supports assigned projects from sales handover to customer acceptance, completing and/or delegating assigned technical tasks on-time, within budget, and with a high level of quality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes assigned project tasks to maintain budget, schedule, and quality requirements, while maintaining awareness of contractual requirements regarding system performance. Ensures customer satisfaction while meeting or exceeding as-sold margins in accordance with project budget and schedule. Validates plausibility of technical solutions, clarifying contradictions or inconsistencies with customers and/or suppliers. Assists with monitoring department and supplier functional specifications and layout against contractually agreed performance. Ensures system compliance with relevant safety and industry standards. Participates in layout creation and project-specific revisions, focusing on integration of construction and supplier equipment, proactive detection of collisions, and coordination with layout designer. Supports the definition of supplier requirements, technical clarification of third-party equipment, and preparation of subsequent supplier selection. Contributes to the definition, identification, and implementation of cost-saving activities. Regularly communicates and collaborates with other members of the project team to ensure exchange of relevant project information. Leads creation of system documentation, including system layout. Participates in the organization of project closing meetings, recording all important information and lessons learned throughout project. Performs additional duties as required.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.Experience:
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience within material-handling industry.Travel:
Up to 30% travel as required. Skills & Abilities System-level working knowledge of Mechanical, PLC Controls, and Software Engineering Proficiency with mechanical design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Excellent communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively across a variety of audiences. Leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills. Robust knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Physical Requirements Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment. Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time. Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices. Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis. Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
