As a Civil Engineering Intern at Cleveland-Cliffs, the projects assigned will vary based on the intern's education level and plant location, but will generally reflect the duties outlined below.Summary of Responsibilities:
Identification and recommendation of the purchase, modification and improvement of varied equipment and facilitiesManage aspects of large cross-functional projects and be aware of costs, schedule, performance, and deliverables for projects assignedDefine the scope of the project and select team members from within and outside of their disciplineLead the completion of engineering & design work related to the installation and retrofit of varied, complex equipment, infrastructure, and facilitiesEnsure that advanced day-to-day equipment troubleshooting support is provided to MaintenanceLead the development of standards, processes, and procedures within the departmentSuggest recommendations for improvement and various other duties as needed to support the businessVarious other projects as needed to support the businessMinimum Qualifications:
Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in the field of Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or other related technical degreeCompletion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027 Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
